A simple sentence has the most basic elements that make it a sentence: a subject, a verb, and a completed thought.

Examples of simple sentences include the following:

1.     Ram waited for the train.

" Ram "   =      subject,

      "waited"   =     verb

     “for the train”=  object

2.     The train was late.


"The train" = subject,

        "was" = verb

        “ late”. = object

3) Mary and Samantha took the bus.

"She and He" =  compound subject,

  "took"         =  verb

“ the bus”    = object

  1. I looked for Meera and Seema at the bus station.
    "I"               = subject,

     "looked"     = verb

   “for Meera and Seema at the bus station”= object
 

  1. Meera and Seema arrived at the bus station early but waited until noon for the bus.

 " Meera and Seema "                                                 =  compound subject,

   "arrived" and "waited"                                            =  compound verb  

   “at the bus station early but until noon for the bus.” = compound  object

 

 

            The kind of sentence

      There are four kinds of sentence.

Declarative  sentence.

Assertive sentence.
